Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

Branch Prep is operated by Vejda Studios Inc. (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Branch Prep website and services (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. It’s part of our Terms of Service.

2. Information we collect

Account information. Your email address. If you sign in with Google, Google also shares your name and profile picture with us. If you answer our setup questions, we keep your answers: your name, target score, test date, any past SAT or PSAT score, and what you want to focus on.

Practice activity. The questions you answer, your answers, whether they were right, how long you took, hints you used, questions you mark for review, and your practice tests and estimated scores. This powers your history, analytics and recommendations.

AI tutor messages. When you use the tutor, your messages and the question you’re working on are sent to our AI provider to write a reply. We don’t store tutor conversations on our servers; we only count how many messages you send, to apply the monthly limit.

Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your subscription status, plan and billing dates, but never your card number.

Guest passes. If you give or claim a guest pass, we record the pass, when it was used, and which accounts gave and claimed it.

Messages to us. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you.

Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting and security providers process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and request logs to deliver pages, keep the Service secure and fix problems.

3. How we use it

• to create your account, sign you in and keep you signed in;
• to run your practice: picking questions, tracking progress, scoring practice tests and showing analytics;
• to answer your questions through the AI tutor;
• to process payments, manage your subscription and guest passes, and send receipts;
• to send the emails the Service needs, like sign-in codes and account notices;
• to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse, such as more than one guest pass per person;
• to understand, in aggregate, which questions and features work well so we can improve them; and
• to follow the law and enforce our Terms.

We don’t sell your personal information, share it for targeted advertising, show ads, or build advertising profiles. We don’t use your practice data or tutor messages to train AI models.

4. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf, only to run the Service:

Anthropic processes tutor messages under its commercial terms, which don’t allow it to train its models on them; it may keep them for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the safety or rights of our users or others, or as part of a merger or sale of the Service (in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information).

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We only use cookies and browser storage that the Service needs to work. We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

• Sign-in cookies keep you signed in.
• A theme cookie remembers Light, Dark or Auto, if you choose one.
• Stripe cookies on the payment page help prevent fraud.
• Browser storage remembers things like your current question pool and crossed-out answer choices on your device.

You can clear cookies in your browser at any time, but you’ll be signed out.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account and practice history for as long as your account exists, so your progress is there when you come back. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax or accounting reasons (such as payment records held by Stripe). Copies in backups are removed as the backups cycle out.

7. Students and children

Branch Prep is made for high school students. You must be 13 or older to use it, and users under 18 need a parent or guardian’s permission. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn we have, we’ll delete it. A parent or guardian who believes their child under 13 has used Branch Prep, or who wants to review or delete their teen’s information, can contact us at support@branchprep.com.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, give you a copy, or delete it. Email support@branchprep.com from the address on your account and we’ll respond within 30 days. We won’t treat you differently for making a request. You can cancel your subscription anytime from Billing.

Depending on where you live, privacy laws (such as those in California and other US states, the European Union or the United Kingdom) may give you additional rights, and you may be able to complain to your local data protection authority. Where those laws apply, we process your information to provide the Service you signed up for, for our legitimate interests in keeping it secure and improving it, to meet legal obligations, or with your consent.

9. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, restricted access to our database, and verified sign-in. No online service can be perfectly secure, so please keep your email and Google account secure and tell us if you notice anything suspicious.

10. Where your information is stored

Branch Prep is run from the United States, and your information is stored and processed there. If you use the Service from another country, your information will be transferred to the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date. For significant changes, we’ll let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
